I signed up, but mostly just because I feel like doing a beta test. I don't really have high hopes for this game, since LOTR seems to be a bad universe to do a MMO.
You know, since the story and everything has been fleshed out already. I kinda feel like that I'm dancing on Tolkien's grave.....

Okay. I went ahead and applied for the Beta. I also filled out the profile part and told them that I'm part of a gaming guild and that I'm an officer of the guild. If I like what I see I'll probably be opening up a new section for Lord of the Rings.
I was talking to my brother and he said he really likes the look of it so I'm going to take some time and have a closer look. He's more up on whats going on in the world of fantasy MMO's than I am.
So .. we'll see what happens eh? hehe ;D

I applied as well (and supplied the TTB url). It would be kind of cool to hang out on Weathertop or with Bilbo's stone trolls.

Hehe. Yeah. I was looking over the site last night and I have to say those are some nice graphics. The combat model is not PvP either but they are working on that option for the pvp wanna-be's. I really like how they put it. "We don't want a group of Elves "Ganking" Hobbits in hobbiton." It's a lot like the original CoH model. Heroes don't fight Heroes. The instancing is interesting and the world map is tied to events you have run through already.
So say the Prancing pony is on fire. You come back in a day and it's burned to the ground. Now that that event is completed for you... the instance becomes part of the world map for you. It all seems VERY story driven. Namely the story of the Lord of the Rings in the first "book". The whole mission model appears to be based around that. With lots of side quest type things. There are numerous things I'm not fond of naturally. On the other hand there are numerous things I am fond of.
Geez. Now I'm torn between this and AoC. hahaha.

I haven't been watching the forums but i have been reading up on the game and looking at screens and it does look like it is shaping up to be a good game. Even though LOTR has been done into the ground i still think they could pull together a pretty good MMO using the story.

Oh yeah. The game looks pretty cool. The forums are odd though. Maybe it's my settings. It's like they are backwards and jumbled up or something. I can never seem to find the first post of the thread. lol.

Jeez, it's going to take freakin forever to download the client. A 3.5 gig file at a blazing 9 kBytes a second. Oh well, patience is a virtue.
