Once I get a majority of the filming done I'm going to make a movie trailer. Same as the hollywood studios do. With a release date and everything. This will of course include a good poster that I plan on designing somewhere along the line.
So.. I can post this stuff in MxO. I'll be hosting a less than 100 meg version of the movie on youtube due to thier limits. I'm probably going to try to find somewhere reliable I can host a Hi-res DVD quality version. It'll be a big file.
Since we're still at the beginning I thought it might be a good idea to throw up a marketting thread to get some ideas. Things to do. Places to post. etc, etc, etc.
If we are going to spend this much time and effort on it I'd like to go for a full on media blitz to create some buzz before releasing it. Not a J-Lo style market saturation.. but things we can do within reason.

Oh. One thing we could do to promote the movie in-game is to have an "Opening Night Party" kinda deal. hehe. Wish I could get the devs to set up a movie screen in game like during Blue Sky and show it. That would rock. lol. And it's not asking much... LOL. Never happen.

i can include updates like Release Date, Trailer Imfo, on my list i send to Pyro for his Hardline Show. I can do the same for The Megacity Times. Release Party? i like that! One thing production studios do is have their stars go around the talk-show network to promote. we dont have a "talk-show" network, but we do have partys/events and stars should converse about the upcoming flick. How bout "Movie Shoot Schedule" on the player event mxo forums? 3-5 dates advertised in advance could help drum up interest in the movie even if no-one shows up, people will see the thread and acknowledge it even if they dont show up. then when the Release Date Party is anounced, they'll be like "oh i know about that movie" and interest will grow.
oh and there is another movie project in the works, its advertised as the "first mxo movie" *shrug* i duno but i can check into it.

I've been thinking about Megacity times. Perhaps an interview with the director or stars or something? I don't know. /shrug We'll talk about that.
I'm leary about posting a schedule. I'm already a week behind what I had.

I just watched Aquatium's new movie 'intercept'. Man, that has some shoddy framerates at the beggining.
How about the slogan, "Good framerates, good times, no aquatium!"

There was nothing there that was really terrible. I suffer from the same problems Aqua has. I'm just more willing to do reshoots. Framerate in MxO is problematic.

Okay. I have the Skyscream Studios myspace page set up. Plus I set up a countdown timer for Serene Reality. I set it to June 1. I can always change it later. hehe. www.myspace.com/skyscreamstudiosSo now I have youtube and Myspace covered. Two of the most popular things of that nature. That should help a bit with getting the word out. And not just to MxO junkies too. I'll talk to some of the DJ's about the feasablitity of doing a "opening night" old school style radio broadcast. I need to catch up on some stuff I was going to send a few of them anyway. hehe. Cheers!
