Repairing Items
Ok, your next step in the world of coding happens when you become a Level 4. Once you reach that level, you have the chance to gain an ability called "Repair Items". Coupled with the ability, you also need a Repair Items Tool. This can be bought in the same place you purchased the Item Decompiler (Chains in Tabor East). This particular skill is very important...to explain why I will first teach you about "Code Purity"
Press 'i' to get into your in-game inventory and mouse over any piece of clothing or weapon you see available. On the pop-up window, in the top right-hand corner you will see a circle with dots trailing it. This is the indicator for that particular object's purity...optimal purity is a single, solid white circle. This is produced when you freshly code an object and have not compiled it yet. "Brand-new" purity is indicated as a green orb with two green dots trailing it. If you have a half of an orb followed by one or two dots, that means that object has been used and has begun to degrade. Like in real life, any usable object in MXO will degrade and eventually become unusable (disappear from your inventory)...this happens if the orb completely goes black. (Full green orb -> half green orb -> yellow orb -> half yellow orb -> red -> dead)
**Make sure you have read my guide to decompiling before you continue...there are many points that were covered there that definitely apply here.**
Now down to brass tax....repairing your items. If you have been using the same buffed clothing for a long time, chances are that you need to repair some, if not all of it. So that is where we will start. And our shoes are where we will being, so with your inventory open...mouse over your equipped footwear. Look at the upper right-hand corner and see what your object purity is...currently, my shoes (see below) are at a half-yellow orb with two green orbs trailing it. **I do alot of running**. This means that I need to repair it, as I am close to loosing it if I do not.
Our next step is to click it to select it...now go over to your Repair Items Tool which you should have put in your hotbar. Now click it...you will get one of two possible messages..."You attempt to repair the item and fail." or "You sucessfully repair the item."
Now you will see in the image below, because I repaired my shoes...my once half-yellow orb turns fully green and one of my trailing dots have disappeared.
Here is where things get interesting and a little complex. If you let your orb disappear without repairing it you will lose it...if you repair your item you will lose one of trailing dots. The number of dots you have trailing the purity orb tells you how many more repairs you can do...if you have no more dots after the orb you can no longer repair the item.
Now....here is one of my rules that crosses over from repairing items into decompiling items. When you have run out of repairs for you object, and your orb has turned to half yellow....I can hear you now "NO! I don't want to loose my awesome clothes....the have +23 Melee and Ballistic Damage resistance and plus...they're ME!" All is not lost my friend...If the article is within your range to easily decompile DO IT!!!. Once you have gotten your use out of it, then you can decompile it to learn the code structure. When you learn the code structure, it means "You Can Rebuild It....You Can Make It Stronger". Read the next guide, which covers actual coding and it is very in-depth. Each step leads to the next...
