Red Fragments and Farming
Back again with the coding tutorials....first off I have to say that I love doing this. Teaching others how to do something I enjoy always gives me alot of pleasure and I am about to fill you all in on something that took me a while to hammer down. Alot of you that have been with TTB or around me for a period of time know that I am a farming machine...this is something I am happy to pass on.
Without getting too much into code crafting and compiling (which I have yet to cover) I am going to give you and idea of what these "Red Frags" are. As you get higher in levels, you will find that coding items and abilities are impossible without a red-frag. These are rare code bits that are dropped by certain mobs sporatically placed throughout Mega City (I will provide a list of the frags and their locations near the end of this tutorial). Certain frags are needed for crafting certain items/abilities starting at level 20 and higher (this example pertains to the Operative Tree of coding abilites).
Operative Interfaces: are used in crafting Level 20 Operative Abilites (Bull Dog/Spin Throw/Dim Mak Strike/Ki-Charged Punch/ect)
Operative Objects: are used in crafting Operative Abilites between the levels of 21-30 (Piston Kicks/Three Round Burst/Pistol Aerial/ect)
Operative Patches: are used in crafting Level 33 thru 36 Operative Abilities (Punt/Pinning Fire/Karate Focus/Handgun Artistry/ect)
Operative Subroutines: are used in crafting all Operative abilites higher than level 36. (Aikido Grandmaster/Duelist/Wooden Dummy Drill/ect)
If you do as I do (code everything I need myself) then you will have to learn the fine art of farming. Because you will need MANY MANY of these red-fragments.
The concept of farming pertains to finding a mob group that could possibly drop a particular type of red-frag. For speed and efficency, Area Attacks are the best...so obviously, the hacker tree is what you should loadout with. Personally, my farming loadout consist of Code Nuke/Plague Zone/Infect Area/Freeze Area/Zone of Powerlessness/Logic Bomb/Evade Combat. Because everyone has their personal preferences on loadouts I will give you a step-by-step of my technique.
1. Load my area attacks.
2. Scope out the area...what you are looking for is a good sized mob (between 3-6) that is in close proximity to another group of mobs AND a Hardline.
3. I start by enabling Evade Combat, then I will run into the middle of the mob group and use Area Distruption (area effect 20m around yourself). This will aggrivate the entire group.
4. Now, run away while pressing the 'B' button so you can see the mob chasing you.
5. When they get bunched up close to each other, stop running and turn to face them....release Infect Area and Plague Zone in sequence.
6. While they are being continually hit with those two attacks, hit them with Freeze Area (this will knock down their viral resistance)
7. Hit them with Code Nuke and/or Logic Bomb.
8. After doing that all of them should be dead...if not dead, very close to it...pick off the rest with your weapon of choice.
9. Loot all fallen mob members...if you have found a red-frag, upload it immediately.
10. Remember that second close-by mob that you scoped out....run to them and repeat steps 3 thru 9.
11. Go back to where you killed the first set of guys and SUPRISE they've already respawned....rinse -> lather -> repeat -> rinse -> lather -> repeat
THAT is my farming technique....amazing isn't it. *chuckles* Now I will list the places that you will find each of the mobs(their approx levels) and red-frags.

** Code Fragment Farming is NOT just for coders...just look at the marketplace for red-frags and you will get an idea to what I am referring **
Now go young students....fly free and refine your own farming techniques, and for god-sakes TEACH ME SOMETHING. Like Darth Vader...once the student "Now I am the master". Become the master, if anything just to show me up.
Good Luck and Happy Farming
