The Matrix isn't the only game we play. If they want to hit me with a TOS that's thier choice. I'm not posting anything about anything Lesig related on DN1. These are TTB forums. If they don't like what information is being posted here that's their problem. But I'm easy to reach and no complaints have ever been made about what's been posted here. Why? Because I rule with an Iron Fist. Muwahahahahahahaha! Besides .. it's not like the Matrix is the only game in town. "There are levels of survival we are prepared to accept." - The Architect. If somebody doesn't like what's posted here they can register, which is free and open to all, and send me a complaint in a PM. Or post here even. I don't care. Whatever works. Either way if someone posts that something happened they better have evidence to back it up. I suspect that may be the cause.

Oh yeah, uh, PM me. That edit makes more sense than the original post.

Nope. We're not playing this game.
You don't make inflammatory posts here and then erase them and then say if someone wants more info to pm. Around here you either back up what you say or you erase it all and shut up.
Those are the choices.
Don't do this again.

I'm pretty lost, i been able to make most live events when im around. wich is very odd considering im very poor at finding them. poor concent had to hunt me down. Niobe called for me once and i got lost on the way, barely got there in time to see her leave. but im stil kinda lost. the /who thingy. that just shows people in how far of distance? and is there any way to locate these people after they show up in "who" list? and another thing, im extremely new to mmo's and mmorpgs. is there other "envirements" this can be compared to? or is "live events" cutting edge technology? i just have a good feeling things will be good when it comes to laison officers and live events in the future *wink*

You can use /addwaypoint if they are fairly close. They shortened the range on it at some point. I'm not sure what it is now. 100 meters? 60 meters? I have no idea. There is also the new /face command but I've never used it. Supposed to face you towards your target I think. SO if you can target them with /target or X of something then it's easier to find them. Live Events are pretty much unique to MxO. Other games have events and gm controlled characters but none of them have an evolving continuous story. Like with CoH. SUre they have events but .. it's just mob spawns. SWG has events but .. they are player events. Certainly not what we have here. Other games claim to have live events.. but .. they aren't telling the whole truth. Like with SWG and 'live events'. There are a couple others like that too. The only thing close to MxO would be the upcoming Lord of the Rings where you play during events in the first 'book' and the world map from your point of view gains more areas as you complete them. Not really the same.. but it is a story line. They talk about having gm controlled characters and what not too. I haven't read much about it yet at all. I could be wrong.

Question: Do Hostile and Mathalos pay an extra $100/month or is there just some newsletter that I'm not aware of. Three servers + five orgs...no way to tell when LE is online really. They are also on the LE mission team of half of these LE threads I've been looking at. I know it sounds like I'm complaining, but really I'm impressed. I say share the secret! rarebit: Don't know if all Liaisons send emails to their organisation of upcoming events but I know that some do. Hard way: So that's 2 accounts to get 5 characters per server (or get a friend to make characters) > Contact all liaisons > Get on their mailing list > Jack in every now and then to check email > Be at every Live Event. Easy way: Or make friends in each org on a server and ask them to forward the emails and to contact you when an event starts. That's the secret Rarebit didn't post that. I did.

Yeah, I remember the feeling Sky, if something major was gonna go down in an LE us Syntaxians KNEW it was gonna happen on Recursion so we may aswell not bother at all. That said, LESIG's did seem pretty corrupt. I don't know any zion factions that were ever tipped off, despite the fact ND was huge we never got a peep. Concent was ok, for about a week, then he disappeared. From what I know The Watchmen (Faction my brother is in) are tipped off about LE's a few days in advance and they post it on their forums so their whole faction knows. Meanwhile Zion doesn't get a peep from anyone and misses most events. The only LE I've attended was cause my bro told me and I came as my mech alt, I was lucky I started Uni late that day. I know all the Cypherites on Syntax get an email 1 week before a LE starts. That should be a rule for all the events that LESIG is allowed to notify people of: Email everyone, or at least the captains/leaders of factions. Luckily, there aren't so many Cyphs so we all get an email We don't stay in touch with our liaison, we don't know him personally nor do we ass kiss the dude (we in fact leave meetings and events if we don't like them). I do sent our liaison emails when I've recruited someone new and when I think that person can be trusted to recieve such intel. oh before I forget: HI TTB's!!!

What's happening to this community?
It seems like the drama has tripled since I left.

I've responded to Strannick in Strannicks post rather than here.
Hi Reveerb. Thanks for the clarification on the quote. I was pretty sure it wasn't rarebit that said that and I was going to find who actually made that post but I couldn't find it. hehe.
Back when Seraneth was still around we would get notifications occasionally but never a week in advance. heh. More like. "We need you at *insert location here* as soon as possible." LOL.
If we had a liaison for Zion on syntax I'd make an attempt at contacting them. But we don't yet. heh.

Then I guess we can say we're quite fortunate with the emails we're recieving. All well written, including a time and date of course and all the information that our liaison knows is in there. Which most of the time isn't much as he probably doesn't know, or that he or Rarebit just doesn't want to spoil anything yet. But the emails are good stuff, it's what many asked for since the beginning of MXO. A simple notification that something will happen.

Oh crap. Sorry bud, it was rough trying to figure out those quote tornados. They should make it easier to find who said what by putting frames on those.
As for finding people's location with /who, don't think you can. Well unless you wanna whisper to a few people.
I just want to state that it's quite lame to have to use /who to find these. Now those "search and destroy" ones are the only type that should require the use of /who.
I wanna say it seems like the MxO team is trying in some way to bring more things to the table. I read the DN1 LESIG app thingie and it seems like they have taken a good bit of advice from the community. Hopefully LESIG will be better this time and those players will bring more interesting ideas and themes to the game. Hopefully they will stay on the right track and keep improving the game anyway they can.
Off-topic: I've burned a CD today that is godly, and all must bow to it. (last part with the bowing was in jest) *wink*

There have been a ton of suggestions from the community. Hopefully the communication issue will be worked out. I would be more than pleased to even get a what's up doc? e-mail. lol. It would help if we had a liaison soon for zion. Talk about being left in the desert of the real. lol. As I've learned recently mass e-mails are really easy to do so I'm not sure what the problem would be other than a lack of desire.
