"These are the end times..." Aaroun thought to himself as he sat alone on the engineering deck of the smaller than average 'Hvcrf_Binary Revolution'. "I try to stay true to the teachings of Morpheus and of my mentor, Ghost...stoicism and silent conviction are virtues to be held dear. But the violence towards red and bluepills alike is increasing by the hands the Unlimit Reactors and Anome. It is truely time to end all of this..." Aaroun stood and restarted his task of reoptimization of the power cells, but his mind continued to waver...as usual. "I am tired of standing side by side with machines and merovingian lapdogs to hunt down a power-hungry man with mommy-issues..." *Aaroun...are you finished yet? We're going to be late.* Halcyon called over the intercom. Aaroun kicked the DC Conversion system causing the LED lights to come on and a loud hum to eminate from the large cabinet. Aaroun turned to walk out, turning on the hydrogen ventilation system and exited thru the door.
Halcyon jumped into the pilot's seat as soon as he heard the lift generator hum to life. "About time..." Aaroun climbed up into the cockpit from the maintance shaft below. "Yeah, yeah...your faith in me is a never-ending source of inspiration." Aaroun strapped himself into the his seat and began to power-up the lift pads. With lift achieved, Halcyon rocketed the ship towards Zion.
The Binary Revolution made it to the docks of Zion in record time, three hour trip done in 1 hour 45 minutes..."Niobe would be proud..." Aaroun said, sending the clearance code to the dock operators. "Well, be sure you brag to Ghost the next time you get a sparring invitation." "And you be sure to refrain from doing that kind of piloting until this new operator at least gets a chance to settle in." Halcyon began to chuckle in rememberance of our last operator/engineer who asked to return to his dock post in Zion after the second day. "No barewire/car battery powered seat padding this time..." Halcyon warned causing Aaroun to retort, "And no trying to make the kid throw-up on the first day, plus...he was such a pain in the ass, I was just trying to show him what a pain in the ass he was." Aaroun finished as they made it to the exterior lift in the supply hold of the ship. "Uh, huh...well, hopefully Tyndall and Loch decided to give us someone with a little more grit and balls than your average operator." They rode the lift down to a bustling dock strip. "Doubtful..." Aaroun said as he followed his captain to the command tower.
Skyscream, 2Fist, and Telemancer were standing in the command room as the Binary Revolution crew made it's way in. "You're late!" Sky said as they approached. "I'll take the blame..." Halcyon said. "Yeah, he's been driving like your average grandmother lately." Aaroun said with a hint of sarcasm behind his normally monotone voice. "Well I hope so, I don't want to have to answer for another operator to leave the fleet again." Just as she spoke, Tyndall and Loch walked up with Crouder (the ships old operator) and a woman in tow. "Believers..." Loch spoke with a distasteful tone (probably because the True Believers refuse to salute him). "Commander..." Skyscream said, stepping forward. "Let us hope that this time things last a little longer with an operator Halcyon." "Oh, come on...you're not going to stick us with this crybaby again are you." Halcyon retorted. "As much as I would like to, just to make waves on the Binary Revolution...Tyndall asked me not to." Loch stepped into Halcyon's face. "Well, remind me to buy Tyndall a drink later..." Hal said, only pissing the Commander off more. Tyndall stepped forward, "Halcyon...Aaroun...meet your new operator, Erise." The young woman standing in the back pushed her way forward (even pushing Loch out of the way.) She looked Halcyon up and down with her piercing gray eyes, "You're the captain?" her tone of voice was strong...defiant. Halcyon nodded. "And you're the first mate?" she asked in the same tone. "Aaroun..." he responded. "Good...anything to get me out of the cavedewelling lifestyle under the rule of this a**hole." she glanced at Loch causing most of the Believers to chuckle under their breath...a lightly choked back snort could even be heard from Tyndall. Loch did not find it so amusing, "Remember this...if this operator comes back like her brother did, I am grounding your crew and you will all be working in the waste recycling field." Loch turned around and walked away, his voice could barely be heard as he continued venting to Tyndall 'I'm glad to get her out of my hair...maybe she'll fit in with the rest of those insubordiates'
Crouder stepped forward in a fidgety manner, "You can beat them up, but don't kill them sis." "Just get out of here you sniveling toad..." she pushed him back as Halcyon drew a breath to say something smart/hateful. He ran off towards the residence halls. Skyscream chuckled and spoke "Welcome to the True Believers." "Nice to know someone in your family has balls..." Halcyon said, causing Erise's eyes to narrow slightly as she shoved her large duffle into his chest. "For that, you can carry my bag." She slung her shoulder bag and put her shoulder length brown hair into a ponytail. Aaroun chuckled has he bowed his head slightly to the crew of the Format C and began to walk with his crew back the the Revolution.
