Now that The Matrix is gone from our lives... since we were apparently not ready to be unplugged... am I the only one of our community who has migrated over to Champions Online?
If there's enough of us over there... I really wouldn't mind reforming TTB under a cape-and-cowl like situation! ;D

I shall definitely put up a mini review of what I've seen so far in the game shortly. It's pretty fun, plus c'mon who doesnt like superheroes?! Plus with all of the powers and stuff, you could very EASILY make a continuation of your MXO character if you wanted. (One of the travel abilities is a Super Jump i believe)

I've been looking at a few vids of this game already, it looks good.
I'm giving serious consideration to CO.

Unfortunately there isn't a trail of the game, however I took it upon myself to put together a little sampling of the ridiculously good character creation system the game has to offer. EichDee tasked me with trying to literally recreate her MXO character in Champions Online, so I attempted to do perform said task. Hope the screenshots aren't too big for you guys, i tried to shrink them down from my native 1920 x 1080 resolution. Before you do anything else in Champions, the first thing you get to pick is the framework of your character (see below). Or you can choose a custom framework which lets you hybrid two trees together. Then of course you choose your gender. Following that you can choose the face style for your hero. You can either use one of the basic styles in the game (seen below) or you can customize the face and use sliders to determine various changes (see below below) The next step would be to choose a body type (they vary a little from male to female). The system is just the same as a face, you can choose a premade type or a custom body. Then you can choose your costume! There are different sections for head, body, hands, legs, and then depending on your framework you can choose other accessories as well, along with your characters facial expression and way he or she stands. And then *ding* We have one recreated MXO alias. After you jump into the world a little bit, you do get the ability to choose a "Travel Power" such as your typical superhero flight ability, swing around with grappling hooks, or a Super Jump (hehehe). What's nice about all this customization is that at the Level 25 mark, you can use pretty much the same system to create an Arch Villain for your hero as well. Along with that, you can also find Tailors around the different zones of the game that will allow you to change anything about your characters appearance (sometimes for a small fee). Otherwise as you level up you acquire more costume slots for various appearances. Powers and abilities have a similar 'roll back and change' system called a RetCon system. Basically, for what can be described as a "hefty" fee, you can revert away powers you do not wish to have and get a different power in its place. Like I said though, this costs a lot of in-game cash right now and Cryptic is trying to find a way to fix that and tone it down. Combat in the game plays a little more like an Action RPG instead of a traditional MMORPG. It's meant to be fast paced and rather intense, an accomplishment I feel it does rather well. There are RP communities around the game if you look a little bit, the main group is the Champions Online Roleplayers, who have their own chat channel in the game called CORP. So the game does seem to have a strong RP world behind it. The only thing that kind of hampers the RP community a little is that Champions doesnt use servers, but uses a Guild Wars style of 'instances'. I could probably get a little more into the game if I wanted, however I don't have THAT kind of freetime on my hands. I'll say that I'm very much enjoying CO and while it has a little room for improvement, what MMO doesnt? Plus, I'm a superhero/comic geek so this is right up my alley and its making me slowly heal the wounds of having no MXO.

Well I tried it. Got to say it's really quite impressive! Combat is fluid, and the many, many different types of setups seem to interact well with each other. That, and the amount of customization is mindless, and I only scratched the surface: Business Suit & Zionite Outfit I used in MxO The outfit I had when I reached lvl 10 in MxO And for the kick of it, I made a few random more: Samus Aran in her zero suit And a pretty neat version of the Terminator! Lara Croft Solid Snake (say what you want, but he's freaking hard to do XD) Mr. Anderson! We've missed you! PS: And you know me, give me customization and I'm sold haha

Dee those look so rad! I am blown away by the depth of the customization.
Unless the emulator goes active in the next month I'll be getting this very soon.
