We need some group photos for a poster. I'm thinking about posting in the kinship recruitment forum since we know that some of us have already pre-ordered. Also... New members at LotR have to start coming to the forums and registering. Please remind them of this. We need a direction for the recruitment thread. Here are some things I'd like to include: We are a relaxed, mature, group looking to have fun. RPers but just as happy doing the non-rp stuff too. Well established group with a website and forums involved in multiple games. Recruits should be self-starters. We aren't hand-holders and members are expected to be able to fend for themselves even if it isn't required. No drama. Try soap opera digest for that. Sense of humour is VERY important. If you can't laugh at yourself then you're too serious for us. ------------------ If anyone can think of anything else feel free to let me know here. heh. If someone wants to write up a spiel about that go for it. Don't forget... We need group photo's and people to COME HERE AND REGISTER!!! lol Cheers!

This is kinda the style I was thinking of but with .. like ... more people. lol. Opinions? The silver text is a translation of "The Travelling Band" into Tengwar Quenya which is the more common form of 'elvish' in Tolkiens works. Yeah... I did it myself. Then had to find the corresponding characters with the fonts I found. Much fun.

No worries. Lots of post-patch problems which is normal for Beta patches. They added a lot of textures and changed the lighting/shading. Moved a bunch of stuff around. You'll have to remake your friends list but the kinship is still intact so no worries. Tired. Need sleep. lol.

Very cool poster Sky. What location was that? Finally got the patch downloaded. Haven't played much yet, but so far my experience with it has been mostly positive. The biggest problem that I've encountered so far seems to be fubared repair costs. Repairs are a lot more expensive now. Lot's of complaints on the LoTRO forums, but that's to be expected. Almost everyone agreed that the quest rewards were a little to uber and diminished the value of crafting. So they reduce the value for quest items and of course everyone screams "OMG, you nerfed my armor!".

That was on the Brandywine Bridge. The crossing from buckland to the shire. Yeah. People will complain. I don't bother with the forums. I read the stuff from Patience and them. Dutifully make my bug reports. Have fun playing the game. THey'll get the balance between crafting and quest rewards worked you soon enough I'm sure.

Very cool poster Sky! I joined up last night and enjoyed the assistance and relaxing chat. I've been soloing for too long and was ready for some company. In fact, was thinking maybe I should go back and do some fellowship quests I passed up at the beginning (Rath Teraig or some such). Anyways, thanks for pulling me into the "family" and looking forward to more interaction with the group. Feel free to call on me but if I don't answer your messages... really, I'm not ignoring you. It's just that multitasking is more of a challenge than it was 10 years ago. I can go a while forgetting to read the chatterbox and then think, "Was that green text for me?" Too bad kin and fellowship messages don't come with a hand that reaches out to knock me in the head.

Welcome to TTB Rox! lol, I know what you mean about chat Rox. It's really easy to miss chat messages when the combat text starts rolling up. It's especially easy to miss if your in a random pick up group and you seem to be the only guy in the group trying to keep the mobs off the lone minstrel. I frequently find myself scrolling through the chat log looking for messages I might have missed. I need to experiment more with the chat UI. I think you can create a new tab, detach it, and filter everthing except Kinship chat. The only problem is the amount of screen space the new box would take up. I really wish we could reduce the text size more.

I'm at work now and can't check this out but I wonder if it's possible to resize the game screen to less than full screen (but not too small) and pull the chat box outside of the game area so that it's not sitting over the game screen. In UO, the game screen can be sized within a larger screen so that health bars, journal page, spell buttons, etc. can all be put in the black area around the game but I've not tried using less than the full-screen mode on LOTRO.

I haven't tried that but the chat window seems to be tied directly to the game. Next time I log in I'll check. Pretty sure no though. I couldn't figure out how to move it either. Not that I tried hard. haha.
Welcome to the family! ;D

Oh. If it's something really important, which is unlikely, I'll hit you with a few IM's to make you *ding*. haha. If not.. well... you're busy. Such is life eh? Funny thing is this group is built out of solo'ers mostly. It's pretty rare that we all get together to do something but only because some of us are used to The Matrix where things are a lot different from Middle earth. I have a feeling the number of fellowship quests there are will probably alter that behavior a bit. hehe. ;D

I posted a kinship recruitment thread on the forums and put us in the List of Kinships. I put myself down as a contact but I'll be updating that eventually. I was tired. Bing bang boom. Kinship thread. Cheers!

We do take noobs, but only a select few noobs. Of which, I'm happy to say, you qualify Hal. My screen names are Ordaran, Dwaerlin, and Porthogar. You can also send a tell to Keogh.
