That's a tough one. lol.
The Hovercraft Format C: When I came up with the idea of a program/machine leaving the Matrix and entering the real as a hovercraft during a spur of the moment Roleplay session, with I think Espi, really defined pretty much everything that happened after that character wise. Then I came up with the idea that this program was actually on the side of Morpheus. lol. This happened maybe a month into playing the game. After that I just dived in as a full on Morpheus supporter to an insane level.
-----------
The Murder of Vashou: Another defining moment for me was the night 2Fist (the original commander of The True Believers) and I solved the Murder of Vashou event. We were the only guild members on at the time I think. Not sure. But that was ... HUGE. Put our small guild on the map. He solved the puzzle and my part was complete blind luck. I literally stumbled across the second part of the answer to the Murder of Vashou in the form of glowing Bits, accidently left behind by Toorima aka Veil, as I was hyper jumping around in frustration. I sent him the coordinates and we both sent in the answer just to be sure one of us got it. Yeah, we were paranoid. I know I was freaking out. We were searching all night. Totally convinced we were too late.
Then the announcement was made.
Linenoise: 2fist (The True Believers)
YES!!! Screw you, Veil.
-----------
The Long Story Short: Then shortly after that the Great Server Merge happened, 2Fist dropped the keys to the Fleet in my lap because Real Life, and not long after that I met Catzi for the first time which eventually led to the Alliance of The True Believers and The Pride which to me was pretty huge.
That would be the Big Three I think.

Defining moments? Such a difficult question to answer. There were not many encounters which were pleasant or worth remembering. Through the dark, painful loneliness it was the sparks of new friendships that really helped to create the kind and honest person he is today. Knowing that someone honestly wanted to spend time with him removed him from his dark place of internal solitude and moved him forward.
Shattered confidence was now seen as possibly worth rebuilding and with luck he might even be able to glimpse happiness.

I do offer all of you a question; what was your reason for choosing the side of Zion in the great conflict?

Oooh. Good question.
Why did I pick Zion?
I think it was that I couldn't see trying to RP as part of the machine faction. It was too machiney. Does that even make sense? Nor was I really into the underworld mob boss style of the Merovingian. Meh. Been there. Done that. Stole the t-shirt and sold it for a profit. So Zion it is. Be one of the 'good guys'. lol.

*posting to bump the thread* In terms of Roleplay, Mala "Skyscream" McFey, simply couldn't believe anything the Machine presented. There were far to many lies to believe anything at all. The Merovingian wasn't really an option because he didn't care about anything except his own survival and retaining his power. Since going it alone wasn't an option (literally) she stuck with Zion. More specifically she stuck with Morpheus because his words rang true to her mind and carried weight. She didn't care much about Zion command at all but in Morpheus she felt that she had found someone who actually gave a shit about the future and not maintaining the status quo. Plus he cared deeply enough to risk everything for his friend which is something Skyscream and Format could both understand. End Of File.

Sorry for not posting, Guys! The last few weeks have been insane. So, here we go:
What are some of the defining moments for your character? What events shaped who they are and how the interact with people, approach situations, etc.
There are a lot defining moments for Karaa lol, some of which I can't mention here in explicit detail...in case people are actually reading Into the Abyss and don't want to be spoiled lol.
Before Karaa was a blue pill she worked for the FBI. In short, she worked directly for the machines hunting down redpills that, at the time, she believed were terrorists. Karaa was directly and indirectly responsible for the deaths of countless redpills. When she was first awakened this was something she struggled with a lot. If you read Foundations of Code, you can see that. EichDee was instrumental in getting her to move forward.
Karaa was awakened by Danny (made up Character lol). He has a big role into the Abyss and gets his introduction in the Foundations of code. Things happen in into the abyss and this leaves a huge impact on Karaa. you will just have to stay tuned. Though its hinted at in the last flight of the tiger.
Karaa was also a part of a machine experiment (along with EichDee, though at different times) that attempted to merge humans and machines. Hence, her super speed and all the other good things. She doesn't find this out though until the end of into the abyss 2.
This is hinted at also in ATS, but by far what has impacted Karaa beyond measure and has gotten her to the state she is in in that RP is the death of EichDee. As with many of the characters and its clearly evident in that RP. No matter how bad things were for Karaa, EichDee always pulled her back. With her gone, Karaa spiraled, hence the grey in her eyes which is suppose to represent the machine part of her mind taking over. I know we all miss EichDee and I think we keep her alive in our RPs. Which I am sure means a lot to all of us. I know it does to me. Miss you, girl. Let me move on before the water works start.
Anyway, yeah, Karaa has a lot of stuff. lol. Shows that I was involved in too much RP. haha.
What was your reason for choosing the side of Zion in the great conflict?
I just liked the idea of zion and from the movies and what not when i first started playing. i don't have a great reason, other than i really like the under dogs lol.
From an RP perspective, Karaa was already working for the machines and hunting zionites mostly. She realized she was helping those that were imprisoning her species and she joined up to atone.
Ok, new question: What is your character's greatest fear? Have fun with this question, it can be something like...spiders! (Which anyone that has seen the pictures Pylat has posted about the Aussie wild life, will understand that is a huge possibility). And, can also talk serious, and talk about really big fears they have. In fact, if your character has both, tell us!

Hmm. Greatest fear. That's a very good question.
For Mala/Skyscream I think it would be the Machine. Not the programs and sentinels. The mind(s) behind everything the Machine is. Cliché answer, yes, but that's it. Almost absolute power in the hands of what she regards as a spoiled child. A hyper intelligent child but still a child. One that brainwashed what was left of humanity into believing the war started because of a robot that killed a human wasn't given equal rights as a human. She fears the kind of mind that can not only start a war and win but have no remorse in committing genocide. Lies, so many lies.
On a sillier note, she really can't stand starfish. They creep her out.
(I'll post about Format another time.)
