Those that are active and like to specialize, or excel in certain areas are welcome to volunteer to participate in specialized crews. They all carry a feline theme that gives us our identity and are recognized throughout the matrix
Kitten I lead the Kitten crew to be sure that new recruits get the foundation of training to insure the most success. Basic combat, hardline tours, how to get top drops from hidouts, crafting class, and Access Node hacking. After that, members move on to other crews.
Lion Leaders of the jungle. Members act as diplomats, caretakers, decision makers, and are the people who carry on the good name of Zion
Panther Members act as scouts, do recon work and spend time exploring. Learn spy abilities like shadow and infiltrator.
Cougar Pound for pound the cougar is one of the most ferocious living beings. This is our combat force to defend Zion and the people, with honor and chivalry. They also handle security.
To get into any of these specialized crews, or to start up a new one, all you have to do is ask.

I found a lot of people weren't aware of the duties of a Lion and were asking me.
I think the best way to sum them up is "Demi-Captains". They have all the duties of captains (Aiding new recruits, leadership roles in the faction in a crisis) but don't have a crew to take care of. I think the role will suit part time players quite well. Players who are happy to help new recruits and act as diplomats, but don't want the added stress/responsibility of leading a crew aswell.
The crew could also act as a sort of "Officer's Training" school. The kittens train people to be effective operatives, if they want to captain a crew they move over to the Lions to be trained in the regard. I find a lot of crews have trouble cause the captain isn't quite aware of what they need to do and how to do it. This way they find the nominated FM for the crew, both move over for some training/instruction (They can "Practise" on other recruits) and once they feel ready, create their own crew.
What do people think?

absolutely -- great idea Pylat.
Training of captains is an awesome Idea.
Maybe we can post some of the standard information in the forms, then point new & existing captains & first mates to read it.
As we gain more faction members a guidelines for captains can't hurt.
Maybe a draft is posted & then members can make suggestions.
One thing to remember is each member (yes even captains & first mates) has unique circumstances for when & how long they can log on... that's prior to even saying one must do xyz. But if we put out some guidelines one can know if they're fulfilling the role.
Generally everyone has good intentions (including myself) but helping folks help themselves for example a key to faction success.

Actually I think its Bourbons crew that won't care about levels. Seeming he's a Beta player who's still lvl 45.
The joke is when he finally reaches level 50 everyone can quit the game.

Just contact a member of The HvCft Cougar.
I believe AnaisNiN and Avery1 can help you get on board.
But I think Catzi might still want to train you a bit.

Yes, I agree folks can join my ship Cougar Hovercraft.
I would like to confer with Catzi & Pylat on: - reshuffle operatives (who, where & why it's good move) to & from ships. - retain 2 slots for quick temp recuits. Then next synch-up to move those new recruits say to the right kitten ships (this is brand new say lvl 2 to lvl15 recruits who need a lot more in-game help. - finalize late March revised plans for who does what, how often & back-ups on critical needs.
So although not a bad move, I think faction leadership needs a meeting & get back to what roles need to be filled -- who all wants to volunteer & help out.
Usually folks active for a number or months or levels can demonstrate some level of reliabliaby to be there -- do that.
So anyone wanting to do a role well is welcome & people notice things... even "no good thing goes unpunished."
Until then, enjoy the ride -- let's team & have fun.

If anything, we need more Panther's, I'm going to try move some people off my ship who would do better somewhere else. No offense is intended to those people, but I think I have a few people who would be suited to work on the Cougar's ship, or on Bourbon's ship.

Cougars could probably be defined as the PvP crew, but that doesn't mean you have to be on it to PvP. I visit Mara C on occasion and remind the Cypherites who really owns the place, then get reported for exploits
